“Sara’s method isn’t to teach weak people to be strong, but rather to teach strong people to apply their strength in the right direction, against the right obstacle, and with a conviction to make that obstacle move.”

I never would have seen this coming. For my birthd I never would have seen this coming. For my birthday today, my amazing three sons hiked Mt. Baldy yesterday with me + three of my girlfriends (elevation 10,064) + camped on top under the most beautiful full moon, in 25-plus mph winds! We saw the most epic bright + brilliant moon at 2:00 am + watched the sunrise with coffee at 5:30. All that I can say is my heart is so freaking full!

God, I love these guys to every full moon + back again! I’ve never laughed so hard, watched them handle the uncomfortable with ease + felt so grateful for a day on a mountain!

This has already been the best birthday ( + gift!) ever ... 💕 Watch more in my stories!

Thank you to everyone who has reached out ... another year around the sun!
Life gets better with age.
Here’s to 47!

“I like to think of us as having iterations—or “I like to think of us as having iterations—or versions of who we are—within ourselves. These parts, including who we were as creative children, build upon one another to form the people we are today. So if this is the case, why can’t we access our inner child, who climbed trees and viewed life with wonder? Or the little girl who twirled in her first dress? When going through hard times in life, why can’t we speak to our twelve-year-old self, who stood under the streetlight and felt awe while viewing something as simple as snowflakes falling from the night sky?

We can, and it’s important to do so. In fact, “awe—as opposed to joy, pride, amusement, contentment, and other positive emotions—is the singular sensation that goes the furthest in boosting one’s overall sense of well-being.” It’s no wonder that so many new clients say to me, “I want to be happy again, like I was as a child. I want simplicity back in my life.”

When accessing the part of us that explores life, we become active participants in our lives rather than spectators. Being an active participant will guide you to places you never thought possible—standing on a mountain, freeing yourself from the entanglement of past relationships, becoming CEO of a company you love, or finding forgiveness from your deepest pain.”

After recording my book for nearly 22 hours over the weekend, I’m heading to a mountain + sleeping under the full moon with my sons + friends for my birthday.

Many are looking for “answers” on “how-to” Many are looking for “answers” on “how-to” during this rollercoaster of 2020. Here are my thoughts, short + sweet, because I care about you.

When following thought leaders, authors, coaches + therapists, DO SO WISELY. Choose people who align with your own values. Make sure they are also “doing their own deep internal healing + work,” and are not simply telling YOU how to do so.

Leaders cannot be leaders without authenticity, vulnerability, and the ability to set aside their own ego to look deeply into their own eyes. Good leaders will always speak truth, inspiration + hope ... and won’t be afraid to call themselves out on their own shit.

I have a lot of people message + ask my thoughts on certain “influencers” (I’m not even a big fan of that word, tbh ... the only person who should influence you is the intuition + voice that lies within you). Yes, after all of the work I’ve done on myself, I can read people pretty well.

What I will say is this: listen to you + know that you have the answers already within you for EVERYTHING in life. Find people who have already “been there” + can guide you to those answers.

Make sure they’re continuing to WALK THE TALK.

And NOT simply talk the talk.

In my (nearly!) 47 years, I’ve never really been a follower, to be honest. And the reason why is because the only person I’ve followed is the one within myself. You’ve got this.

Choose. Wisely.

This is me in 1992. I was 18 years old + a mom to This is me in 1992.
I was 18 years old + a mom to this amazing 10 month old little guy.

I’ve been nominated by women I love to put up a #challengeaccepted photo. But it’s this younger version of me who I’d like to challenge + honor.

You see, I believe that every amazing woman out there has iterations of their past selves that have supported their beautiful journey today. For me, it’s the 17/18-year old self who fought to keep her child, to become a college student at UW-Madison, and wait tables on the side.

The girl in this picture taught me strength.
Courage.
Love + compassion.
She taught me what it was to use my voice + overcome.
And she taught me how to forgive.

This former version of me needs to be honored because ... had she not stood up to her challenges, I wouldn’t be coaching others how to transform their own today.

I have no idea who started this challenge. But my hope is that we embrace all versions of our former selves in order to love who we are today ... and spread that love for the girls + women around the world. We are all incredible humans with beautiful, bright souls here on earth.

I honor each + every one of you.
And ... every version of you.
We ARE better together.

Support. Love. Inspire. Educate.
